We woke up one morning and looked at the booking calendar for the hire vans…
With not much happening in May we booked the ferry to Tassie first and worked out where to after that! We decided to take a camper on the boat as trying to book a caravan in for both ways was nearly impossible for our time frame.
Our new camper, Lucy had arrived and got kitted out for the crossing into Tassie, much like a roof top tent with sleeping inside it has the advantages of being close to the ground, hard walled and roof (no canvas) and a diesel heater built in.
The time to leave arrived faster than we were ready! We headed out one Wednesday arvo with the first stop being at….our storage shed to pick up one last thing….
We stopped at a bush camp we stayed at before, Ada river campground. There was one other person staying there (in the distance) so we had our first night in the camper. It went well, warm and comfortable and no ladder to climb! The only thing we worked out is we needed to find a spot for our shoes when getting into bed.
The fog in the morning made for some great pic’s before it was burnt off for a sunny morning. We headed out from Ada River and stopped at Bunnings for a couple of things and Kings superstore for a couple more (hopefully that will be it….)
Tonight is at Warragul before getting to the ferry at Geelong – the story will pickup from there….
Some pics for you!
